John Kempton BA(Hons) Chartered fellow CIPD, MCMI

John Kempton has a BA (Hons) Degree in Organisation Behaviour and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). He is also a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

He started work as a Personnel Officer (1986), in industries as diverse as Catering (Motorway Service Areas) and Telecommunications Development (working for a joint venture between Philips and AT&T). He realised that his skills were in communication, coaching and teaching, and therefore moved into the Training and Development side of HR management. He joined Lloyds Bowmaker, a Financial Services company and then became the first HRD manager for a leading City Investment House.

Since 1992 he has been successfully running his own consultancy. As a trainer he has been a Visiting Tutor at the Civil Service College (since 1993) - on various HR and management courses. John has also been an Associate Lecturer at The University of Surrey (since 1992- 2005) writing and lecturing on Masters level programmes and also running short courses for various overseas projects.
